Leonardite also known as "slack
lignite" is really a waste material which is removed from
the surface of lignite coal beds. It has a high "crude"
humic acid content and essentially no Bio activity. It is widely
used in industry and as a drilling mud but is not recommended
for agriculture. Then why do so many manufactures use it to make
liquid and soluble powders?
Only one answer I can think
of "IT"S CHEAP" and "appears" to have
a high humic acid content and this fools the public and when they
try it and get little if any results and have to use ridiculously
high rate, they then will say "HUMATES Don't WORK! and the
cycle is stalled again. Only Fulvic acids make this stuff work
and this compressed peat, not coal from New Mexico is true agricultural
humate and is effective at 1.5 gm/20L. water in a foliar. Don't
waste your time and money trying a save a few cents on a proven
worthless concept. Notice the high levels mentioned in this article
and don't be fooled by the "COAL Sellers"
most "liquid humic acid"
really a salt of humic acids is made with Leonardite coal usually
the recommendations are nearly 10 times the rate we recommend
with Humisolve-USA, price per pound is only part of the story,
the cost per acre is the key!
